TheOpinel ExploreN°12 pocket knife is a versatile knife, ideal for nature, hunting and survival enthusiasts.

The N°12 pocket knife comes equipped with:

Martensitic stainless steel

The stainless steel used inOPINELblades is optimized to guarantee both high resistance tocorrosion and high mechanical performance.
The blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand the usual contact with hard materials such as ceramics before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when put in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent...).

The handle
The handle is made ofglass fiber-reinforced polyamide to withstand shocks, humidity and extreme temperatures (-40°C to +80°C). Thebuilt-in110-decibel survival whistle worksirrespectiveof weather conditions.

Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted on all foldable knives from the N°06 modelonwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade when it is closed (safety during transport).
