The mechanism of salt grinders is designed to crush table rock salt. This mechanism is made of stainless steel,being resistant to corrosion process caused by dry salt.At the top, the grinder has a knob for grain size adjustment. Turn clockwise for a finer grind and counterclockwise for a coarser grind.

For best results, dry salt, whose crystals do not exceed 4 mm in diameter, such as mined salt or rock salt, is recommended. Do not use salt grinders to grind pepper or sea salt, as the moisture can corrode the mechanism.

For pepper grinders, the mechanism is provided with 2 rows of spiral-shaped steelteeth that grip and guide the peppercornsin view of perfect grinding.

Black, white or green peppercorns, dried, hard, with a maximum diameter of about 5 mmare recommended. Pink peppercorns can only be used in a mix (maximum 15% of pink pepper) withanyof theaforementioned types of peppercorns.

Salt and pepper grinders contain salt and pepper for demonstration purposes and have to be emptied before use.
